We're Hiring! - Director of Operations

Willamette Falls Trust is adding an experienced, detail-oriented, and culturally-receptive Director of Operations to our staff. This individual will generally report to the Executive Director and will manage all current and future projects at Willamette Falls. The Director of Operations will also prepare the Trust for a multi-million-dollar campaign implementing the key-project, including but not limited to upgrading financial, IT, and HR capabilities.

We are looking for someone who can translate their experience into systems that best serve our diverse and culturally specific communities. The Director of Operations will bring the cultural sensitivity, technical and managerial sophistication needed to conduct complex project management with multiple Tribal and public partners and prepare Trust systems in a manner that enhances the Trust’s mission. The Director of Operations must work collaboratively with Trust leadership, staff and board, Tribal partners, donors, and key contractors and vendors.

This position requires a strong analysis and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, systematic oppression and the implementation of effective systems that counter this oppression, informed through lived experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in rapid-growth settings, with a preference for experience in nonprofits that work on behalf of communities of color and rely on philanthropic support.

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 + benefits

At Willamette Falls Trust (the “Trust”), our purpose is to create a perpetual year-round experience at Willamette Falls that will ground public connection to this natural landmark. Our project aims to elevate Tribal voices through historic and cultural interpretation, restore a healthy habitat, provide open public spaces, and showcase the Falls and its waterway in their entirety.


The Trust represents Indigenous communities with connections to Falls and is dedicated to the development of an exceptional Willamette Falls experience, open to the public. The member Tribes of Willamette Falls Trust include the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservations, and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
