Partners in Renewal

This August we were honored to host a meeting between Senator Ron Wyden and the delegated board representatives whose vision and leadership we are deeply grateful for: Robert Kentta, Trust Board Chair, Siletz Tribal delegate, and Cultural Resources Director; Davis "Yellowash" Washines, Yakama Nation delegate, and Government Relations Liaison; Toby Patrick, Umatilla Tribal delegate and Board of Trustees Member at Large; and, Jim Manion, Warm Springs Tribal delegate and Tribal Council Member.

Sen. Wyden and Tribal Leadership discussed their families’ histories at the Falls, honored past collaboration among sovereign nations and shared excitement over what the future of the Falls and our relationships hold.

We are grateful for Sen. Wyden’s commitment to supporting our Tribal nations through this endeavor and loved his coining of the phrase, “Partners in Renewal.” An apt description of what the Willamette Falls Inter-Tribal Access Project represents for everyone in the region.
