Joshua Billison (Diné - Navajo), Tribal and Community Engagement Director for the Willamette Falls Trust, comes from Kinlíchéé, AZ on the Navajo Nation. Josh has served Tribal communities for the last 15 years in Arizona with experience in organizational leadership, program development, and strategic management. Josh has served in several positions of leadership, leading day to day operations, strengthening partnerships with tribal and nonprofit organizations, and advancing initiatives that empower Native communities.
Mr. Billison possesses master’s degrees in Nonprofit Leadership & Management and Applied Leadership & Management, along with a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Arizona State University. His professional journey includes leadership positions with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, First Things First and United National Indian Tribal Youth, Inc. where he directed multimillion-dollar grant programs, facilitated strategic planning, improved intergovernmental relations and oversaw all marketing/communications. He is well-regarded for his ability to align organizational systems with mission-driven objectives, resulting in sustainable community impact.
Billison strives to be a “bridger” for communities. He’s striving to continuously support, build relationships and connect others to drive solutions. He’s deeply grateful to have the opportunity to participate in elevating Indigenous voices. He is excited to support the resilient movement in restoring public access to Willamette Falls.
